Rogerstown Estuary & Turvey Parklands - 9th February 2020.
The dreadful weather that battered the country on 9th February meant that just two very brave souls arrived at Turvey Parklands car park for our outing to Rogerstown Estuary.
Despite the atrocious conditions they made it all the way down to the Turvey Hide and were rewarded with views of Pink-footed Goose, male Sparrowhawk, Yellowhammer, Buzzard and many others.
This turn of events has prompted the committee to agree on a procedure to follow if similar conditions arise in the future on the day of an outing. It was decided that if a Met Éireann Orange or Red warning is in effect on the day of an outing at the location then members should assume the outing is cancelled.
